Rural Community Economic Development Fund
The
Rural Community Economic Development Project is a 3-year $2.1 million
pilot project for rural community economic development project funding.
It is part of the Western Economic Partnership Agreement called the Rural
Community Economic Development Initiative that includes three components:
the Rural CED Project Funds, CED Specialists and funding for the Regional
Economic Development Alliances.

The
mission of ministry is to build Alberta's economy and workforce to ensure
a vibrant and prosperous province for all Albertans. The Ministry's major
responsibilities include: 1. Helps Albertans train for as well as find
and keep employment. 2. Provides financial and health benefits, child
support services and employment training support to Albertans in need.
3. Contributes to workplaces that are safe, healthy, fair, and stable
for employees and employers. 4. Develops or assists with economic development
plans and policies. 5. Provides business information and market intelligence
to Albertans. 6. Promotes increased trade and investment in Alberta.
6. Supports industry, regional and rural economic development. 7.
Promotes awareness and understanding of women's issues.

Peace Region Economic Development Alliance
The Peace
Region Economic Development Alliance (PREDA) was established in 1999
as a non-profit member-driven organization. PREDA is a
network of municipalities and organizations across northwest Alberta
having an interest in designing and managing a regional economic development
strategy for the area.

Grande Alberta Economic Region
The Grande Alberta Economic
Region (GAER) is an alliance of 14 rural municipalities, towns and villages,
including one associate member, Jasper National Park. The GAER not-for-profit
corporation is made up of business, government, and industry stakeholders
operating as an agency on behalf of its member municipalities.
